Contractors Come Out to Support Colorado Youth Outdoors

For several years now, roofing contractors and roofing industry professionals have come together from all over the nation to support a yearly fundraiser for Colorado Youth Outdoors. This weekend long event is called The Maverick. Activities include, a horseshoe tournament which kicks off the event on Friday night, and followed by clay shooting on Saturday.  The weekend closes with a banquet on Saturday night. The 2017 Maverick was May 5 - 6 at Sylvandale Guest Ranch in Loveland, CO.

So, what exactly is getting all of these contractors to come out and show their support?

The Maverick is not only a great weekend full of networking and fun, it also supports a great cause. CYO is a nonprofit organization that uses outdoor recreational activities to help youth and their parents, or other significant adults in their lives strengthen their relationship.

In 2017 CYO celebrates their sixteenth anniversary. In 2010 they transitioned from a high school based program to a facility based program with the acquisition of Swift Ponds, a regional outdoor education and recreation facility. CYO works with over 15,000 youth and families each year. They have programming for youth and parents that runs in three week blocks year round. Their Alternative High School and Hispanic Family Outreach programs serve at risk youth and their families in Fort Collins and Loveland with the goal to expand into Greeley this fall. So far, CYO has shared their gift with over 2500 families and touched even more by collaborating with other non-profits that serve disadvantaged and other youth.
